The Wattle Festival offers you three opportunities to travel by steam train.

  1. Travel to the Festival by steam train
  2. Travel between Hurstbridge and Eltham return by steam train (Shuttle Trips)
  3. Travel from Hurstbridge to Melbourne by steam train at night

Travel to the Festival by steam train

Steamrail Victoria (SRV) have been appointed to supply the K class steam locomotive and carriages to make the historic journey from Flinders Street to Hurstbridge laden with eager festival goers.

The train will commence its journey from Flinders Street at 9.00am and arrive at historic Hurstbridge Township at 10.30am.

Steam train shuttle tickets will be available for sale at the Hurstbridge train station on the day, for only $6.00 a return trip from Hurstbridge to Eltham.

To experience the historic journey from Flinders Street to Hurstbridge you’ll have to be quick as tickets will sell fast.  (UPDATED  28 AUGUST 2010 - TICKETS MELBOURNE TO HURSTBRIGE FULLY BOOKED)

Flinders Street to Hurstbridge (One way journey):

Family $50
Adult $25
Concession $15
Child (prep to Year 12) $10

Tickets for the STEAM train from Flinders Street to Hurstbridge are now available for purchase on 1300 660 072.  THESE NEED TO BE PREBOOKED

Shuttle Time 

Tickets for the shuttle trips are only available at Hurstbridge Station on the day of the festival.

Cost:  $6.00 per person for the return journey  (children unde school age free of charge)

Hurstbridge dep: 10:55am, 12:15pm, 1:30pm, 2:50pm, 4:10pm
Eltham arr: 11:20am, 12:40pm, 1:55pm, 3:15pm, 4:35pm

NB Train does not take new passengers for return trip to Hurstbridge
 

Eltham dep: 11:25am, 12:45pm, 2:00pm, 3:20pm, 4:40pm
Hurstbridge arr: 11:45am, 1:05pm,  2:20pm, 3:40pm , 5:00pm

Hurstbridge to Flinders Street - The Night Train

There are two options available on The Night Train from Hurstbridge to Flinders Street

Option One:-

Steam Train travel for $30.00 per person which includes a snack box and return Metro ticket to your home station.  

Option two:-

Steam Train travel only - no snack box nor Metro ticket - $15.00 per adult  $10.00 per child

Tickets for The Night train can be pre purchased by calling 1300 660 072 or at Hurstbridge Station on the day or from the train at Eltham and Greensborough.
