About the Event

Hurstbridge Wattle Festival

The Hurstbridge Wattle festival is a significant cultural event for Melbournians that has its roots firmly planted in our early rail history. It’s a joyous celebration of our heritage, environment and community.

Festival goers will get to view the wattles in a blaze of glory along the Diamond Creek as they approach the township of Hurstbridge. As visitors stroll the main street and the various Festival precincts in the township, they can enjoy a fabulous and extensive array of entertainment, events and activites for all the family.

Rail

The best way to enjoy the festival is to make a day of it. Hurstbridge is the last station on the Hurstbridge line, which is part of Melbourne’s suburban rail network. Plan to take the Connex train from your nearest station (or drive to a station along the Hurstbridge line) for a hassle free arrival at the heart of the township. Connex trains will be running to their usual Sunday timetable, with a Sunday saver ticket you’ll travel at a greatly reduced rate.

For more information on planning your trip with Connex go to www.metrotrains.com.au.
